WCP Steel Spur Gear — High-Performance 20DP Pinion for Robotics & Automation
WCP Steel Spur Gears are engineered for competitive robotics, mobile robotics, and mobile automation systems requiring compact and efficient drivetrain solutions. Constructed from 7075-T6 aluminum and 4140 steel, these gears are optimized to reduce weight and rotational inertia in demanding gearbox applications.
A Teflon-infused ceramic coating minimizes friction at the motor stage, improving overall drivetrain efficiency and durability—critical for FRC drivetrains and mobile robotic platforms.
These 10DP and 20DP pinions provide compact gear reduction equivalent to 32DP gears, making them ideal for FRC motors or any compatible shaft-based system. Each gear includes mounting hardware and features a 14.5° pressure angle for smooth, consistent operation under load.
Key Features & Specifications
- Material Construction: 7075-T6 aluminum and 4140 steel for strength and reduced inertia
- Coating: Teflon-infused ceramic coating reduces friction in motor stages
- Pitch: 20DP pinions (equivalent to 32DP compact gear reduction)
- Angle: 14.5° pressure angle ensures smooth meshing and reliable performance
- Mounting: Each gear includes mounting hardware for easy installation
Benefits for Robotics, FRC & Automation
- Lightweight & Strong: Combination of aluminum and steel reduces rotational inertia while maintaining durability
- Efficient Power Transfer: Coating improves drivetrain efficiency in high-load robotics applications
- Compact Design: 20DP gear pitch delivers compact reduction for space-constrained gearboxes in FRC robots and mobile robotics platforms
